Itinerary
Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport you will be greeted by the Airport Representative and Professional Chauffer of Ayubowan Tours & Travels. Your chauffer will drive you to Kandy. Visit the Elephant Orphanage en-route. It’s an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. Proceed to Kandy & visit the Temple of the Tooth which houses the Sacred Tooth of Lord Buddha. Visitors can observe poojas (offerings) the ancient traditions of drumming and sacred chanting in honor of the Tooth Relic. Witness the Cultural Dancing Show in the evening. It’s a stimulating of Sri Lankan Arts, Dance and Cultural Heritage with traditional dancer’s & drummer’s performance. Overnight Kandy.
After breakfast proceed to Nuwaraeliya visiting the Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya. It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Then proceed to Nuwara Eliya by visiting a Tea Factory, Tea Plantations and Water Falls. Visit a tea factory around Ramboda will be a fantastic stop through misty mountains as you can enjoy with a cup of tea (world famous “Ceylon Tea”) and also you can buy fresh products from their outlet. If interested you can visit Shri Bhakta Hanuman temple at Ramboda which is dedicated to the God Hanuman and you can witness the 18 feet Hanuman statue. Visit Ramboda Falls and reach Nuwara Eliya by passing scenic misty mountains. Conduct a sightseeing tour in Nuwaraeliya to enjoy the beauty of the city which is locally called “Little England”. Overnight Nuwara Eliya.
After breakfast leave for Horton Plains. It is located at an elevation of 2,100–2,300 m (6,900–7,500 ft.) and encompasses montane grassland and cloud forest. It is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. You can experience an amazing walk taking you to Bakers Falls and Worlds End. The Horton Plains are the headwaters of three major Sri Lankan rivers, the Mahaweli, Kelani, and Walawe. Visit Ambewela Milk Factory en-route for gaining a different experience. Return to the hotel trough misty mountains. Visit Sita Amman Temple on the way back. It is the only Hindu Temple which dedicated to Princess Sita in Sri Lanka. Overnight Nuwara Eliya.
After breakfast leave for Nanu Oya Station to experience the train ride to Ella. Your chauffer will be picked up you from Ella Station. Visit Nine Arches Bridge and other sightseeing in Ella. Climb Little Adams Peak which has a fantastic view on the top. It takes about an hour to walk up to the top and the path is well laid out. The views once you are at the top are simply stunning. Stay at leisure and enjoying the dinner at a restaurant in Ella city will be memorable. Overnight Ella.
After breakfast proceed to Yala visiting Ravana Caves & Ravana Falls on the way. Ravana Falls is currently ranking as one of the widest falls in the country. It is a gorgeous beautiful waterfall just by the main road which can have a view from the main road. Visit Buduruwagala Anciant Buddhist Temple. The complex consists of seven statues and belongs to the Mahayana school of thought. Overnight Yala.
Leave around 06 a.m. to experience the early morning safari at Yala National Park. Your chauffer will instruct the hotel to offer you a packet breakfast. Yala is famous for its elephant population, seen in small and large herds, spotted deer, Sambhur, Barking deer, Monkey, Wild Buffalo, Wild Boar, Sloth Bear and innumerable varieties of birds endemic and migratory. Peacock is the most famous of the birds at Yala. Proceed to Mirissa. Mirissa is known to be the beach to just lay back. The beach is ideal for snorkeling, surfing & whale watching boat trips. It has developed a reputation as a party destination for the travelers. Also famous for seafood restaurants. Overnight Mirissa.
Early in the morning leave for a boat safari to see blue whales & dolphins in Mirissa as the boats are leaving by 06.30 am from the main port. Stay at leisure on the beach enjoying different water sports, activities and enjoy a seafood dinner at a restaurant nearby. Overnight Mirissa.
After breakfast leave for Hikkaduwa visiting the Galle Dutch Fort which was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century. It’s a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument which has been recognized as a world heritage site. Sightseeing of different beautiful southern beaches until Hikkaduwa, stilt fishermen activities and all that will be covered on the way. Stilt fishing is a method of fishing unique to the island. The fishermen sit on a cross bar called a “petta” tied to a vertical pole and driven in to the sand a few meters offshore. Overnight Hikkaduwa.
Stay at leisure in Hikkaduwa while doing short excursions to Meetiyagoda Moonstone Mines, Turtle Hatchery at Kosgoda. It is the one of the very few hatcheries where all the five species in the country make their nests. They are the Olive Ridleys, Green Turtles, Leatherbacks, Loggerheads and Hawksbills. Then experience a River Boat Safari at Madu River with the sightseeing of 64 islands including cinnamon islands. As you sail through the rippling waters, watch out for water monitors, blue-eyed cormorants perched atop floating branches, fruit bats hanging asleep, upside down and the endearing sight of infant monkeys clinging onto fishermen as they sail across the river on narrow boats. There are plenty of Seafood restaurants are on the beach to enjoy your dinner out at Hikkaduwa. Overnight Hikkaduwa.
After breakfast proceed to Bandaranaike International Airport via Colombo conducting a short city tour in Colombo. You will be able to witness Independence Square, Old Parliament Building, Old Dutch Hospital, Temple Trees, President’s House, Galle Face Green, BMICH, Viharamahadevi Park, Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Lotus Tower, Pettah Street Market, Central Bus Station, and Fort Railway Station. Proceed to the Airport on highway and it will be about 30 minutes’ drive from the heart of the city.
