Begin your journey after an early breakfast with a pickup from your hotel in Negombo, then set off towards the Wilpattu.
The unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willus" – natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. Wilpattu National Park is located 25km north of Puttalam or 30km west of Anurdhapura. The park that lies on the northwest coast spans the border between North Central Province and North Western Province of Sri Lanka.
Make jeep safari at Wilpattu national park. Asian elephants, spotted deer, barking deer, wild boar, Asian buffalo and Mugger crocodiles. Endemic birds include the Ceylon Junglefowl, the Brown-capped Babbler, the Ceylon Woodshrike and the Black-capped Bulbul in the habitats of the rivers. Butterflies observed include the Greater Egg Fly, Greater Orange Shrew, Glad-eye Bushbrown, Blue Mormon, Common Mormon, Common Rose, and Carmine Red Rose.
Wilpattu National Park is located on the northwest coast in the arid lowlands of Sri Lanka. It consists of a unique complex of lakes called Villus. These are natural pools filled with rainwater and surrounded by open grassy
